Jaguar XJ6/Jaguar XJ12/Jaguar XJ6C/Jaguar XJ12C. 1973–9 (prod. 170 for 2·8, 6,880 for 3·4, 69,951 for 4·2, 16,010 XJ12 saloon, 6,487 XJ6C, 1,855 XJ12C). 2-door coupé, 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 2790, 3442, 4235 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 5343 cm³ (V12 OHC). Facelift due to US laws saw higher bumpers, improving looks. A handful of 2·8s built for export. No SWB saloon after 1974 London Motor Show though platform used for elegant coupé. However, Series II unloved due to reliability problems during British Leyland era. Coupé had vinyl roof on all models.
