Jaguar XJ/Jaguar XJR (X351). 2009–19 (prod. 120,000 approx.). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, F/A, 1999 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2993 cm³ diesel, 2995 cm³ petrol (V6 DOHC), 5000 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Dramatic new XJ, with carryover aluminium chassis but new styling aiming to represent company’s new credo of ‘beautiful, fast cars’. Dowdy, four-decade-old looks of X350 and X358 gone. Hybrid promised but absent at launch, with Jaguar emphasizing the good looks of the car. Ian Callum headed the design team. Top XJR available with supercharged V8. Four-wheel drive from 2013 model year, with Land Rover expertise used, as well as turbocharged four-cylinder model for export, developing 241 hp.
