JAC Tongyue. 2008–14 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1298 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1332, 1488 cm³ petrol, 1488 cm³ CNG (I4 DOHC). Basic small car, with little to go wrong, but not that well made, including plasticky interior. Economical with either the Mitsubishi engine or JAC’s DOHC units; 1·5 only for the first two years. Upgrades in 2012. Hatchback dubbed RS. Faux SUV with cladding called the RS Cross. Also known as the J3. Assembled by Holland Car of Ethiopia till 2013 as the Tekeze (five-door) and Abay Executive (four-door), taking over from Lifan models.
