Originally the Italian version of the BMC Mini built at Innocenti, and regarded as having better quality than the English ones. Innocenti even built Mini Coopers well into the 1970s. The moniker was then applied to the nuova Mini, styled by Bertone, that launched in 1974, a hatchback model on the same platform, but with far more contemporary looks. When Innocenti was sold to de Tomaso, the cars continued but with the addition of a de Tomaso performance trim level. BL supplied the engines till 1981, but Innocenti used the Mini name one more time for the successive Daihatsu-powered models—but cheekily as a prefix (Minitre, Minimatic, Minidiesel), before abandoning it altogether.

Marque: Innocenti | Successors: Austin Mini Metro, Innocenti Mille, Innocenti 990, Innocenti Turbo de Tomaso
