Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.jpg

Hyundai Tucson/Hyundai Tucson L (NX4). 2020 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV, 5-door LWB SUV. F/F, F/A, 1598, 1999, 2497 cm³ petrol, 1598 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 13·8 kWh–1598 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid, 1598, 1998 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Hyundai aimed to keep the Tucson at the top of its game after seven million sales of previous generations. Sharper, sportier lines, parametric hidden lights, and hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Longer, wider and taller. Inside is a fully digital cockpit, including a tailored infotainment experience, and last-mile navigation that can send data to the user’s cellphone. Remote smart parking assist, which allowed drivers to start and even move the car, only compatible with an Android phone at launch. Roomy and refined. Base (for US) 2·5-litre engine not that powerful, considered only adequate. Not that engaging to drive. Two wheelbases, though not offered together in most markets—SWB for Europe, LWB for China (where it’s the Tucson L) and North America.

Manufacturing locations: Ulsan, Korea; Nošovice, Czech Republic; Montgomery, Alabama, USA; Beijing, China

Marque: Hyundai | Model: Hyundai Tucson | Predecessor: Hyundai Tucson (TL)
