Civic loses its flamboyant sculpting in favour of a calmer style; interior followed suit, with a more upmarket appearance. Retuned engines, for more power and above-average economy; longer wheelbase and overall length, aiding interior space. Some road noise. No coupé with this generation, Honda citing declining sales. Hybrid not a plug-in, but with the petrol engine acting as a generator for the electric motor.
