Ford EcoSport (B515). 2012 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 999, 1497 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1498 cm³ diesel, 1499, 1596, 1999 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Second-generation EcoSport on Fiesta Mk VII (B2E) platform, launching in Brazil first. Sold internationally this time, including China and India. Good power from Ecoboost and 1·5-litre engines, and well equipped, including Ford’s Sync system, but extra weight blunts performance relative to Fiesta. Stable and poised, and practical to boot. Some build quality issues with Indian models, while seats lacked support. Two-litre for Brazilian market. Facelift in Brazil first in 2016, and 1·5-litre triple introduced in 2017. Production began finishing in each factory from 2018, with Brazil in 2021, leaving only Romania.
