Fiat Punto (Progetto 310). 2007–18 (prod. n/a). 5-door saloon. F/F, 875 cm³ (I2 DOHC), 1172, 1242, 1368, 1598, 1747, 1796 cm³ petrol (I4 OHC), 1248 cm³ diesel, 1368, 1598, 1796 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Brazilian and Indian production from 2007 and 2009 respectively, a more basic car related to the Palio in terms of suspension geometry, and much cheaper interior materials, despite similar exterior looks to Fiat Grande Punto. Brazilian models equipped at top end from 2011 with 1598 and 1747 cm³ E-Torq engines (the latter badged 1·8), developments of the Tritec units that powered the Mini and Chrysler PT Cruiser. Took over from 199 in many markets in 2012, and facelifted Indian version in 2014 called Punto Evo. Spun off Fiat Avventura. Brazilian production to January 2017. Cancelled in 2018 as FCA withdrew the Fiat brand from India.
