Fiat Panda (Tipo 169). 2003–12 (prod. 2,168,491). 5-door estate. F/F, F/A, 1108, 1242 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1248 cm³ diesel, 1368 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Very successful and practical tall hatchback, taking cues from larger SUVs and MPVs. Greater height did lead to more body roll. Comfortable and modern, and well priced; most models not geared toward performance with the exception of 100 hp model. European Car of the Year 2003–4. Four-wheel-drive model from 2005. Called Panda Classic after 139 introduced, and 4WD Panda Climbing also lived on. Cancelled at the end of 2012.
