1979 Dodge Omni 024.jpg

Dodge Omni 024/Dodge 024 (L-body). 1979–82 (prod. n/a). 3-door coupé. F/F, 1716, 2212 cm³ (I4 OHC). Attractive coupé version of Dodge Omni, without much resemblance to the hatchback sedan. A de Tomaso version was sold in 1980, but differed from the base 024 only in trim. Not actually that sporting—a case of style over substance—but it had its fans, thanks to its accessible pricing. Larger engine from 1981, when ‘Omni’ tag dropped. A Charger package was offered from 1981, and eventually the cars were renamed for 1983 as Dodge Charger. Twinned with Plymouth Horizon TC3, and spawned the Dodge Rampage pick-up.

Manufacturing location: Belvidere, Illinois, USA

Marque: Dodge | Successor: Dodge Charger (1983–7)
