2013 Dodge Dart.jpg

Dodge Dart (PF). 2013–16 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1368, 1995 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2360 cm³ (I4 OHC). Dart name revived on a modern interpretation of what a compact was. Spacious and very well equipped car, competing in the compact class but actually mid-sized, based on a stretched and widened Alfa Romeo Giulietta (940) platform. High-quality interior, and features usually reserved for more expensive cars available, including blind spot radar. Front grille shutters activated at high speed for improved aerodynamics. Two LCD screens on more premium models. Quiet and comfortable, but handling not as good as it could be, despite fully independent front and rear suspension; the car was also heavy. Aerodynamic, with Cd at 0,285. The market shifted against CD-segment sedans in the US, and the Dart never really broke the stranglehold Asian brands had over Americans. It was cancelled after the 2016 model year.

Manufacturing location: Belvidere, Illinois, USA

Marque: Dodge | Model: Dodge Dart | Predecessor: Dodge Caliber

q.v. Fiat Viaggio, Chrysler 200 (2015–17), Fiat Ottimo
