Chrysler Valiant (VJ). 1973–5 (prod. 90,865 all VJ). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door hardtop, 2-door coupé. F/R, 215, 245, 265 in³ (I6 OHV), 318, 340 in³ (V8 OHV). Facelifted VH, with the hope that the refresh could reverse Chrysler’s declining fortunes in Australia. New grille, round headlights and new taillights, electrical ignition standard on Regal, Charger XL and 770, and metric speedometer. Fewer models, with Pacer, Ranger XL, Regal 770 and Charger R/T dropped. Improved interior trim, and improved equipment for 1974, including power disc brakes and anti-roll bar. Charger Sportsman limited edition, available only in Vintage Red with white stripes, in 1974.
