2014 Chevrolet Impala.jpg

Chevrolet Impala. 2014–20 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 2457, 2499 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 3564 cm³ petrol, 3564 cm³ petrol–CNG (V6 DOHC). Up-to-date full-size entry, taking over from dated model in North America, which could trace its roots back 20 years, and the VE Commodore in the Middle East. On Epsilon platform, shared with Opel Insignia A, with smart, tense styling by a team led by John Cafaro. Slightly larger than previous Impala, and roomy in the back. Plush ride, but good body control, though somewhat vague in driver feedback. Very quiet and refined. Interior design, led by Crystal Windham, has a complex, sporting feel, though some plastics not quite up to par. Smaller four is a “mild hybrid”, both fours lacked power given the bulk. As sales dwindled, Chevrolet cancelled the Impala during the 2020 model year.

Manufacturing locations: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; Detroit, Michigan, USA

Marque: Chevrolet | Model: Chevrolet Impala | Predecessors: Chevrolet Impala (2006–13), Holden Commodore (VE)
