Cadillac STS. 2005–11 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, F/A, 2792, 3564 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 4372, 4567 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Cadillac takes the CTS’s styling and expands it, though the STS appears less striking and sporting. It was felt by the US press that the brand had finally cracked it in rivalling the Europeans, but European buyers had other thoughts. It was certainly nimble, and the V8s had decent power, but the STS continued to be let down by its interior. Big updates in 2008, with a new 3·6 V6, with revised styling and improved interior. Production finished with the 2011 model year, when the V8 was deleted.
