1977 Cadillac Fleetwood.jpg

Cadillac Fleetwood/Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (C-body, D-body). 1977–86 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door limousine, 2-door coupé. F/R, 4128 cm³ (V6 OHV), 4081, 5033, 6036, 6966 cm³ petrol, 5737 cm³ diesel (V8 OHV). Downsized Cadillac, making far more sense than its huge predecessor. Similar luxuriousness and even interior room though with more compact dimensions. Switchable V8–6–4 engine with cylinder shut-off for fuel economy in 1980, but electronics proved troublesome and dropped after 1981 for regular Fleetwood. V6 for 1981 and 1982. Fleetwood 75 limousine made to 1984. Caddys downsized again to new C-body for 1985 model year, so the larger version became known as the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham for its final two model years (then Cadillac Brougham, 1987–92).
