2005 Buick Terraza.jpg

Buick Terraza. 2005–7 (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, F/A, 3498, 3880 cm³ (V6 OHV). Replacement for Oldsmobile Silhouette, since North Americans never got the Buick version of the U-body minivans (China did, as the Buick GL8 (1999–2011)). Essentially the same as the Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana SV6 and Saturn Relay. Related to earlier U-vans, but with truck-like front end supposedly appealing to male buyers. No curtain side airbags and third-row seats did not fold flat, but otherwise well equipped with DVD player and hard drive storage. Original 3·5 underpowered (and deleted for final model year), 3·9 added in 2006, but both engines thirsty. AWD dropped 2007 also. Flashest of the GM minivans, with self-levelling suspension as standard, power side doors (right only on CX; left and right on CXL), and GM’s OnStar assistance.

Manufacturing location: Doraville, Georgia, USA

Marque: Buick | Predecessor: Oldsmobile Silhouette (1997–2004) | Successor: Buick Enclave (2008–17)
