Attractive coupé, styled again by Hofmeister, on Neue Klasse platform, but with unusual enclosed quad headlamps. C denoted coupé; CA with automatic transmission. Usual BMW virtues of powerful engine mated to able chassis, and spawned six-cylinder E9 coupés in 1968.
