AC 428.jpg

AC 427/AC 428. 1965–73 (prod. 81). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 7014 cm³ (V8 OHV). Cobra with an Italian party frock. Frua-designed grand tourer but AC Cobra 427 underneath, with Autocar recording 141 mph. Very expensive—over £1,000 more than an Aston Martin DB6—and very rare, but underdeveloped due to AC’s finances. Tamer 428 from 1967. Chassis built in UK, shipped to Frua for the body, then returned to the UK for the powertrain and trim.

Manufacturing location: Thames Ditton, Surrey, England

Marque: AC | Predecessor: AC Cobra (1962–7)
