Ultimate development of Typ 742, with improved 1·3; 135 had eight-port cylinder head, allowing for unleaded petrol; 136 had higher compression ratio, aiding power. Some export 135s and 136s had Bendix fuel injection, with Li, GLi and Si trims. Last rear-engined Škoda saloons.
