Škoda Garde/Škoda 120 Rapid/Škoda 130 Rapid (Typ 743). 1981–8 (prod. 11,179 for Garde; 12,109 120 Rapid; 10,285 130 Rapid). 2-door coupé. R/R, 1174, 1289 cm³ (I4 OHV). Fastback coupé version of Typ 742 saloon. More aerodynamic than the saloon, with sleeker windscreen and lower roof. Named Garde on the home market from 1981 to 1984 with 1·2 from 120 LS; facelifted 120 Rapid, with a wider track, took over in 1984, complemented by more powerful 130 Rapid, with 1·3-litre engine and five-speed gearbox. The 120 Rapid was deleted in 1986.
